In a loop listening system, a copper wire is placed within a room which is connected via a special loop “driver” to a public sound system, creating an electromagnetic field that can be connected to telecoils in hearing aids, cochlear implants, or telecoil receivers. Very user-friendly, the students can switch their devices to the telecoil program to receive the sound directly to their ears. Users will need headphones and a hearing loop receiver if a cochlear implant or hearing aid is not used. (pictured: Microloop III loop system).
